Objective 3: STRIDER Updates (February 2017 - March 2017)

These last few month, two sites have been activated along with the recently activated central site of BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital. Brendan Sorichetti, the trial co-ordinator, traveled to meet with site investigators and research co-ordinators at CHU de Québec-CHUL in Laval and CHU Ste-Justine in Montreal, Quebec. Brendan spent a full day at each site doing study related training, including the new iSTAR platform and Alere® Triage Meters to be used for the PLGF testing. The trial coordinator would like to acknowledge the continued hard work and support of the STRIDER Canada trial by the site research co-ordinators Sylvie Tapp at the Laval site and Hasna Meddour at the Ste. Justine site. They have been integral in getting the trial up and running at their respective sites. The focus now is activating the remaining centres in Canada. The news of these site activations have been reported by the CBC and News 1130, which include interviews with Ken Lim the STRIDER PI.

We also would like to thank Yuxiang Hu, von Dadelszen lab manager at BC Children's Hospital Research Institute, for her contribution and commitment within the last 10 years. We wish her the best in her future endeavours.
