Objective 3: Community Level Interventions for Pre-eclampsia (Update from February-March 2018)

Community Level Interventions for Pre-eclampsia (CLIP) 

The writing of the CLIP primary results is ongoing, and a number of abstracts are being submitted to upcoming international conferences in fall. Ancillary studies for CLIP are underway. Data analysis for healthcare worker evaluation is being conducted in all the three sites, and data collection for economic analysis of Mozambique will be completed in the next two months. Development of an access model using geo spatial data is in the preliminary phases, and this will be followed by a validation process. The results of the primary outcome from the CLIP Trial are being discussed with the stakeholders in dissemination meetings over the next few months.

2nd Annual International Maternal Newborn Child Health Meeting

The CLIP India results, along with the results of the PRE-EMPT objectives were presented at the 2nd Annual International Maternal Newborn Child Health Meeting held in Belagavi, Karnataka, India on 26th and 27th March. This meeting took place at the KLE University at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College campus, and its careful organisation was led by Dr Shivaprasad Goudar and the team at JNMC. Over 80 speakers from 22 countries were represented at this conference, and participants ranged from clinical researchers, policy makers from the government and transnational organisations, implementation researchers, and funding organisations.  The Indian National Union Minister of Science & Technology, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Earth Sciences Hon. Dr. Harsh Vardhan graced the occasion with his presence, and demonstrated commitment to convey the policy implications of the results to the national level. The PRE-EMPT team is honored to have been a part of this momentous occasion, and would like to offer our sincere gratitude as well as hearty congratulations to Dr Shivaprasad Goudar and the KLE team.
