WHAT IS THE GLOBAL PREGNANCY COLLABORATION (COLAB)?
CoLab is a consortium of international investigative groups with data and biological samples from women prior to, during and in some cases, long after an adverse pregnancy outcome. These data and samples are in a membership-wide shared database and available to CoLab members and to investigators sponsored by CoLab members. We currently have members from over 38 centres with more than 300,000 pregnancies and we are growing!
HOW TO BECOME A COLAB MEMBER?
Applicants with research interests relevant to CoLab (complications of pregnancy) and excellent data and/or biological samples can obtain membership applications from CoLab Project Manager, Lee Rager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHAT ARE MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES?
CoLab has a unique organizational structure; there are no dues or fees for membership and other than participation in monthly 30-minute web-based conferences, there are no obligations associated with membership other than to participate in good faith! Members are free to make individual decisions regarding involvement in projects on a proposal-by-proposal basis.
HOW TO ACCESS AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR UTILIZING DATA AND BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES?
Members may request applications for proposed projects from CoLab Project Manager, Lee Rager, at email@example.com. Upon receipt of the completed application and proposal materials, Ms. Rager will provide to CoLab membership for discussion at the next Steering Committee conference. Applicant will be invited to present the proposal and respond to questions and/or concerns during the conference. Members will vote by ballot at the conclusion of the conference.
Non-member researchers may also apply for data and biological samples through sponsorship by a current CoLab member. Information on potential sponsors if needed can be obtained from Ms. Rager.
