The 61st Annual National Indian Public Health Association’s Conference (IPHACON) was held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India from 24 - 26 February 2017.
The theme of conference was "Multisectoral approach for promoting public health,’’ which laid out a set of comprehensive goals that focused on people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership for the coming decades in relation to the sustainable development goals. With this perspective, the 61st IPHACON held discussions on innovative ways of promoting public health through a multisectoral approach.
The CLIP India baseline paper was presented on the third conference day under the maternal and child health theme. The session was chaired by Parthsarthi Ganguli, from the Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar, and Afzal Hakim, professor of S N Medical College, Jodhpur. The presentation was followed by extensive discussions regarding the methods for early enrolment of pregnant women. The audience expressed interest in understanding the CLIP intervention and its impact.
